MLA 9 Guidelines for Formatting Papers

• Text must be in 12 point, Times New Roman font.
• All pages are double spaced.
• Last name and page number on every page on the right side of the header.
• Your name, instructor's name, course, and date on the top left side of the document.
• Paper's title is centered. The title is not bolded, underlined, or italicized.
• The first line of each paragraph is indented.
• In-text citations are parenthesis (Author, Page Number) close parenthesis.
• Works Cited page has Works Cited centered at the top of the page.
• Citations in MLA 9 format are listed in alphabetical order, each with a hanging indent.
