Competition Rules

Keyboarding or touch typing (typing without looking at the keys) is an essential skill to have when creating assignments. The goal of typing is to type fast enough that your thoughts are captured fast enough to not forget.  The touch typing competition is asking participants to type 285 words in the fastest time they can.

THE RULES OF THE GAME

1. To start the Special DIW ZType game click on the image or button with the word ZTYPE, on the right

2. The objective is to type each falling word to completion. There are 285 words you must type. There will be repeated words.

3. You cannot start to type another word unless you finish typing the you the word you have already begun

3. Even though you will see capital letters you do not have to capitalize any word.

4. When your game ends take a 'snapshot' of the score (see examples below)

5. Save all your snapshot score picture in the following format:
DMichael #1 Score  #300300
(Name, Score, CPCC ID number)

It will be easier to give you credit for your efforts if you follow this naming convention.

In the form upload your snapshot in the rank level of your score, e.g. #1 or #2 or #3. The form will place all scores in a correct folder and we will enter the scoring information manually on the scoring spreadsheet view in the Final Typing tab on the website..
