It is VERY important that you begin to establish your reading resources to get familiar with what is going on in the world. The more you read, the more you'll learn. When you don't understand something, investigate and dig deeper. That's what Google is for. :)
Make sure to choose at least one source that you typically wouldn't, so you get a different perspective. Then, establish a daily routine of reading the financial headlines and reading the articles that interest you.
