Overview

What is 3D Design?

3D design means using computer assisted design (CAD) software to create objects that can be used in video games, movies, or 3D printed in the real world.
A popular website for free 3D designs and a place to get some inspiration for your own design ideas is Thingiverse.

People from all of the globe post their 3D design ideas. Some are functional designs some are artistic, and some fall somewhere in both camps.

Here are some examples:
squeezable_fan                                                             Squeezable Fan that you can print
Other design toys like this articulated dragon
you can print. What's cool about this is that it is all printed at once and can move after you finish printing it.
Other people sell their design like these cookie cutters.
horse_sculpture ...while others create amazing works of art.
