On April 12, 2024, STEM Tank Season 5 brought together 39 students to present their research proposals addressing real-world challenges on campus and in the broader community. This season continued the program’s mission to foster problem-solving, collaboration, and research excellence among Central Piedmont students.
Students were guided throughout the season by a dedicated group of mentors who played a crucial role in helping participants shape and refine their proposals. We are grateful for the mentorship and support of: Dr. Carl Arrington, Mrs. Lauren Carter, Dr. Deepti Gupta, Mr. Quillie Hunt, Dr. Matthew Miller, Dr Heather Song, Mr. Tony Stanford, Mr. Kevin Tran, Mrs. Serenity Stokes.
During the final competition, students presented their work to a panel of judges who evaluated the proposals based on impact, feasibility, and innovation. Our sincere thanks to this season’s judges: Dr. Clara Adams, Mr. Jordan Bertke, Mrs. Christina Chaffin, and Mr. Austin Perez.
Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and professionalism. STEM Tank Season 5 was a resounding success, and we look forward to seeing how these students continue to grow as future leaders in STEM.
