Employee Equipment Guide: Home

Available equipment

Central Piedmont Community College Library has many types of equipment available for checkout for Faculty and Staff. Faculty and Staff laptops and hotspots are first come first served and may not be reserved. All other Faculty and Staff equipment may be reserved in advance by contacting the library.

Events

  • One employee may check out multiple devices if needed for a specific event.
  • There is no guarantee that the Library will have devices available for checkout. 
  • Laptops and hotpsots may not be reserved ahead of time; all other equipment may be booked in advance.
  • Equipment for events will not be semester checkout; devices are expected to be returned two business days after the event has concluded.

Equipment policies

  • Employee laptops and hotspots are first come first served.
  • Laptops and hotpsots may not be reserved ahead of time; all other equipment may be booked in advance.
  • All laptops and hotspots check out for one semester at a time and must be returned at the end of the semester.
  • Employee equipment can be checked out at any time, supply permitting.  Equipment is due at the end of each semester, and can be traded out for a new device at the time of return, supply permitting. 
  • An employee is allowed to pick up equipment for another employee only if they have the borrowing employee’s Central Piedmont ID Badge.
  • All equipment must be returned by the due date. Short-term extensions will be be granted at library manager's discretion
  • Overdue Equipment Process: 
    1. Overdue reminder notices will be sent out to all patrons with late equipment.
    2. If equipment is not returned, another email will be sent to all employee who have outstanding items
    3. If after the first two emails, the equipment is still not returned, an email will be sent to the employee's Dean/Division Head.

Waiting list

  • When all available equipment is checked out, everyone will be added to the wait list as first-come, first-served.
  • Once contacted when a device is ready, the employee will have seven days to pick it from the owning library
  • If a device is not picked up within seven days, the device will be offered to the next person on the waiting list
