Martin Luther King Holiday: Home

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was was one of the most prominent Civil Rights leaders who believed that everyone is created equal. He did not just advocate for civil rights through protests, he also participated in transportation and restaurant boycotts, which led to the March to Washington where his "I Have a Dream" speech was proclaimed. His speech is one of many that has been recognized and treasured over many years. Throughout his advocacy,  he was also threatened, arrested, and later on, assassinated. His legacy was honored by President Ronald Reagan that he made January 15 Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
