Library Hours

Get Help Online

There are many ways the Library can provide you with expert help and services remotely. Always check the Library's website for the latest info about our hours and services.

  • Chat
The library will operate chat from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to 5:00 pm Friday. The library now also features 24/7 chat! During the nights and weekends, you can get instant chat help from our partner librarians. These are not Central Piedmont librarians, but can still help you find sources.

  • Get Research Help Online
Need help with research or finding peer reviewed articles? Last minute citation question? Ask us! You can email us, text us, or chat with a librarian from the convenience of your home.

  • Schedule a Consultation with a Librarian
Subject librarians with expertise in specific areas are available for remote consultations via phone, email, or online (e.g. Webex).

If you have further questions, we encourage you to reach out to us, either by phone or email.

Brightspace Help

New to online classes? Need help navigating Brightspace? The library has put together a page with some resources available here.

If you need guided help with Brightspace, just set up a research consultation and we will help you over chat or video conference.

Also, for help with Brightspace this semester, you can schedule some time for help here

Online Materials and Tools

CPCC Libraries have plenty of digital materials available for you if you can’t make it to campus to pick up physical items.

Have other remote needs? Need ideas for how the Libraries can help you off-campus? Send your comments to us.

Requesting Print Books

Students and faculty/staff can search for and request items through our catalog available at http://cpcc.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/
Items can be picked up at either Central or Levine  campuses or the library will mail your request directly to your home. Patrons select these options during the request process. Do not go to campus until you receive confirmation that your request has been processed. This request process will be re-evaluated in early October.

Requested materials will be managed by using lockers that patrons can access directly. Locker locations are:

Central - front vestibule of the library (OLD ATC)

Levine - in the vestibule between Levine 2 and 3 (behind the flag circle)

For any further questions, please reach out to us through chat or phone at https://www.cpcc.edu/academics/library or 704-330-6885.

Overdue Books?

Have some books that are due back to the library? Don't worry! Library staff will be  waiving all late fees until the college returns to its regular schedule. To return books, please follow these directions: https://cpcc.libanswers.com/faq/304626

Faculty Information

A librarian can be embedded in your Blackboard shell. This librarian will be a personal point of contact for you and your students. Embedded librarians can post announcements, respond to discussions, embed Research Guides and share information with students in your courses. Your embedded librarian will work with you to determine the best ways they can assist you and your students to ensure they have seamless access to library resources for your course.

To get started, fill out the embedded request form or contact Garrison Libby at garrison.libby@cpcc.edu

Additionally, please be aware that textbook reserves remain unavailable. Consider incorporating material from some of our online databases that may provide students with relevant information that can be accessed freely from home.
